Show 17, February 16, 2013: Chick Marshall of Mr. Stox Restaurant in Anaheim

Chick Marshall of Mr. Stox in AnaheimMr. Stox opened in 1968 in Anaheim (near Angel Stadium) and quickly became the go-to, gourmet steak house in the area. In 1977 The Marshalls purchased Mr. Stox and expanded the menu to be more of a fine dining destination with a lot of menu variety and an extensive wine list. The current ownership group is Chick Marshall, his brother, Ron, and Ron’s wife, Debbie.

On March 15th Mr. Stox will serve it’s final meals. The Marshalls, now in their 36th year at Mr. Stox, have decided to retire and sold the property for development as an apartment complex.

Many of the Mr. Stox employees have been with them for 20 years or more. They were always innovating. Mr. Stox was one of the first Orange County restaurants that baked it’s own bread on-site for bread service. They typically have at least five varieties in the bread basket and the selections rotate.

Fifi Chao, the highly regarded restaurant critic for The Orange County Business Journal, has previously awarded Mr. Stox her “Best of the Best” award. On February 12th she hosted her dining club at Mr. Stox for a final tip of the toque.

Mr. Stox, you will be missed! For the Marshalls enjoy the next chapter…
