Marlene Moore at the Pechanga Microbrew Festival and Chili CookoffAs part of the Pechanga Microbrew Festival nine of the talented Pechanga chefs are creating a signature chili recipe to be enjoyed (and then judged) by the guests.

Chef Marlene Moore of Temptations Food Court is the defending chili champ for her “Temptation” Hearty Southern Style Chili. At Temptations she is especially known for her “wait-in-line” worthy fried chicken. Chef Marlene is here to stir the slow-simmering pot.

With 219 votes out of a total of 914 votes from 2015 Microbrew Festival attendees, Chef Moore, originally from Trinidad and Tobago, unseated Chef Damian Stanley (Pechanga’s Executive Sous Chef) who had held the coveted chili crown for the previous two years.

We know Chef Marlene is serious about defending her chili champ status. The event opens for VIP guests @ 12 Noon. Chef Marlene was with her crew this morning decorating her Mardi Gras-themed booth in the Pechanga Grand Ballroom at 8:00 a.m.! That’s serious.

Show 160, February 20, 2016: Executive Chef Andrew Sutton, Napa Rose, Disney’s Grand Californian

Andrew Sutton of Disney's Grand Californian Resort and SpaDisney’s OC Chef’s Table” culinary event will be held March 13, 2016 at the Disney Grand Californian Resort & Spa’s Grand Ballroom. The event features 30 of Orange County’s top chefs coming together to create a delectable five-course meal prepared tableside at tables decorated to reflect the personality and brand of each restaurant represented.

All proceeds from the event go to Illumination Foundation, a nonprofit working to end the cycle of homelessness in Orange County. Last year over $580,000 was raised, which helped the charity with their emergency house built for the homeless families they serve.

Each table will receive personal service throughout the 5-course meal from a single chef and their staff who take great pride in creating a unique and unforgettable experience for their table’s guests. They will prepare each course tableside, exquisitely paired with fine wines and cocktails presented with impeccable service.

Our own resident celebrity, Chef Andrew Gruel of Slapfish, will also be there hosting a table.

Danian StanleyChef Damian Stanley is the always on the move Executive Sous Chef at the Pechanga Resort Casino in Temecula. Since the hotel tower and casino opened in 2002 at Pechanga they have enjoyed an outstanding reputation for the quality and diversity of their food and beverage offerings. Chef Damian was the project manager for one of their newest interactive fine-dining spots, Umi Sushi and Oyster Bar.

Chef Damian will also preview the upcoming 2-day, Chocolate Decadence and Pechanga Wine Festival where fine chocolate and premium wines come together on February 27th and 28th.

Hundreds of wine varieties, sweet and savory chocolate confections, food samples from acclaimed Pechanga Resort & Casino Restaurants, live music, silent auction and helping out a good cause are all on the agenda for the two days of events inside the Pechanga Resort & Casino Grand Ballroom in Temecula, CA.

Chocolate Decadence on Friday, February 27th features more than 30 wine varietals that have been shown to masterfully partner with chocolate and other sweet desserts. The event runs from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. and is $50 per guest.

The 7th annual Pechanga Wine Festival goes from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 28th. Tickets for this unforgettable event are $65.00. Combo tickets for entry into both events are available for $100.00. Proceeds from both events benefit Habitat for Humanity Inland Valley.

Attendees on Saturday will get to partake in wine varietals from the Temecula Valley, Central California, Napa/Sonoma, the Pacific Northwest, as well as international winemaking regions. Pechanga Resort & Casino’s chefs will prepare delectable tastes for guests to savor with their favorite wines. Country/pop live music will be performed by singer Alaina Blair and her band.
